Fungal chorioamnionitis is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication of pregnancy with significant maternal and fetal consequences. We describe a severe case of chorioamnionitis in a 19-week twin pregnancy conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF), resulting in maternal septic shock and fetal demise. The patient was successfully treated with anidulafungin after the identification of in blood and placental cultures. This case highlights the growing association between assisted reproductive technologies and fungal chorioamnionitis, emphasizing the need for increased awareness, early diagnosis, and appropriate management of this condition. The literature review suggests a significant relationship between IVF procedures and infections, with implications for pre-procedural screening and prophylaxis in high-risk patients.
