Abstract
A factor which attracts rabbit polymorphonuclear leukocytes both in vitro and in vivo was isolated from the culture filtrate of a strain of Staphylococcus aureus. The activity of the chemotactic factor was independent of fresh serum and it was nondialyzable. Incubation of the factor with heat-inactivated human serum markedly inhibited its chemotactic property. The factor was heat-labile (80 C, 10 min) in the crude culture filtrate but was heat-stable when partially purified.

从一株金黄色葡萄球菌的培养滤液中分离出一种在体外和体内均可吸引兔多形核白细胞的因子。趋化因子的活性不依赖于新鲜血清，且不可透析。该因子与热灭活的人血清一起孵育会显著抑制其趋化特性。该因子在粗培养滤液中对热不稳定（80℃，10分钟），但部分纯化后则对热稳定。
