The ultrasonic method was used in acute experiments on cats with open chest under artificial lung ventilation to obtain quantitative data on the minute and stroke volumes of the right heart, as well as on the linear and volumetric blood flow velocity in the lobar pulmonary arteries and veins. The features of the pulsatile blood stream were revealed in these vessels.
