In the one-day old chicken, the organs of endodermal origin, these the thymus, trachea, lung, and intestine take up significantly more iodine than the muscles which are of mesodermal origin. The thymus shows an especially high iodine incorporation, amounting in absolute values to that of the thyroid gland. An organ accumulates the more iodine, the closer to the thyroid its anlage is situated and vice-versa.
在一日龄的雏鸡中，内胚层起源的器官，即胸腺、气管、肺和肠道，比中胚层起源的肌肉摄取的碘明显更多。胸腺的碘摄取尤其高，绝对值与甲状腺相当。一个器官积累的碘越多，其原基离甲状腺就越近，反之亦然。
