The method of mathematical modelling of the experiment was used to determine optimum concentrations of purine and pyrimidine bases for the growth of Streptococcus lactis and the biosynthesis of nisin. These bases were introduced into the medium at different concnetrations. Thymine at a concentration of 4 mcg/ml stimulated the biosynthesis of nisin, and adenine and hypoxanthine at a concentration of 15 mcg/ml produced a favourable effect on the growth of the culture.
