To investigate the expression of BMP-2 protein and mRNA in glioma, and evaluate its clinical significance in clinicopathological status of patients with glioma.
BMP-2 protein and mRNA expression in 88 patients with glioma were examined by SABC immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR, respectively.
The positive expression rate of BMP-2 protein in glioma tissues were 78.40% (69/88), which was significantly higher (P<0.01) than that in normal brain tissues [3% (6/20)]. The expression of BMP-2 protein and mRNA in gliomas of grade III-IV was also significantly higher than that in gliomas of grade I-II.
BMP-2 expression in cancerous tissues may play an important role in the progression of glioma, which may help to predict patients' prognosis as a tumor marker.
研究骨形态发生蛋白-2(BMP-2)蛋白和mRNA在胶质瘤中的表达情况,并评估其在胶质瘤患者临床病理状态中的临床意义。
分别采用SABC免疫组织化学法和RT-PCR法检测88例胶质瘤患者BMP-2蛋白和mRNA的表达。
胶质瘤组织中BMP-2蛋白阳性表达率为78.40%(69/88),显著高于正常脑组织[3%(6/20)](P<0.01)。Ⅲ-Ⅳ级胶质瘤中BMP-2蛋白和mRNA的表达也显著高于Ⅰ-Ⅱ级胶质瘤。
癌组织中BMP-2的表达可能在胶质瘤进展中起重要作用,作为一种肿瘤标志物可能有助于预测患者预后。
