To develop an HPLC method for the determination of a Tibetan medicine Meconopsis quintuplinervia.
A Hypersil-Keystone-C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) was used with the isocratic elution of acetonitrile and 0.012% glacial acetic acid. The flow rate was 1.0 mL x min(-1), and the detection wavelength was set at 237 nm.
The linear range of 0-methylflavinantine was 0.2-2.4 microg (r = 0.999 7). The average recovery was 96.26%.
The developed method was reliable, and can be used for the quality control of M. quintuplinervia Regel.
