Elimination of water entrapment in hybrid layer during bonding procedure would increase bonding durability.
This study evaluated the effect of oxalate desensitizer (OX) pretreatment on bond strength of three one-bottle adhesives to ethylene-diamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA)-conditioned dentin under dry bonding.
Three adhesive systems, One-Step Plus (OS), Optibond Solo Plus (OP) and Adper Single Bond (SB) were bonded on dentin surfaces under four bonding conditions: (1) Wet-bonding on acid-etched dentin, (2) wet bonding on EDTA-conditioned dentin, (3) dry bonding on EDTA-conditioned dentin, (4) dry bonding associated with OX on the EDTA-conditioned dentin. After storage and thermo cycling, shear bond strength test was performed. Data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance and Tukey tests.
Wet bonding with EDTA or acid etching showed similar bond strength for test adhesives. Dry bonding with EDTA significantly decreased the bond strength of OS, but it had no effect on the bonding of OP and SB. OX application in the forth bonding condition, in comparison with the third condition, had a negative effect on the bond strength of OP, but not influence on OS and SB.
The use of an OX on EDTA-conditioned dentin compromised the bonding efficacy of OS and OP under dry bonding but compatible for SB.

三种粘结系统,即一步加强型(OS)、Optibond Solo Plus(OP)和Adper单组分粘结剂(SB)在四种粘结条件下粘结于牙本质表面:(1)在酸蚀牙本质上湿粘结,(2)在EDTA处理的牙本质上湿粘结,(3)在EDTA处理的牙本质上干粘结,(4)在EDTA处理的牙本质上与OX联合干粘结。储存和热循环后,进行剪切粘结强度测试。数据采用双向方差分析和Tukey检验进行分析。
用EDTA或酸蚀进行湿粘结时,测试粘结剂的粘结强度相似。用EDTA进行干粘结显著降低了OS的粘结强度,但对OP和SB的粘结没有影响。与第三种粘结条件相比,在第四种粘结条件下使用OX对OP的粘结强度有负面影响,但对OS和SB没有影响。
在EDTA处理的牙本质上使用OX会损害OS和OP在干燥粘结条件下的粘结效果,但与SB相容。
