Abstract

The present study was designed to assess the dynamic patterns of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-4, IL-6, acute phase protein (α1-acid-glycoprotein, AGP), and an inflammation associated factor (adenosine deaminase; ADA) following experimental caprine coccidiosis. Ten kids aging from 2 to 4 months were infected orally with 5×10 sporulated oocysts and 10 animals served as controls. Blood samples were collected in both groups before infection and at days 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 post-infection (PI), and the levels of above-mentioned factors were measured. IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-4, IL-6, AGP, and ADA activities were significantly higher in infected animals from day 7 PI (<0.05). In conclusion, the circulatory levels of most systemic inflammatory markers, including pro-inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-4, IL-6), AGP, and ADA increased significantly starting from day 3 to day 7 PI in caprine coccidiosis.

本研究旨在评估实验性山羊球虫病后促炎细胞因子的动态变化模式,这些细胞因子包括干扰素-γ(IFN-γ)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、白细胞介素-4(IL-4)、白细胞介素-6(IL-6)、急性期蛋白(α1-酸性糖蛋白,AGP)以及一种炎症相关因子(腺苷脱氨酶;ADA)。选取10只2至4月龄的羔羊,经口感染5×10个孢子化卵囊,另10只动物作为对照。两组在感染前以及感染后第3、7、14、21、28和35天采集血样,并检测上述因子的水平。从感染后第7天起,感染动物体内的IFN-γ、TNF-α、IL-4、IL-6、AGP和ADA活性显著升高(<0.05)。总之,在山羊球虫病中,从感染后第3天至第7天起,包括促炎细胞因子(IFN-γ、TNF-α、IL-4、IL-6)、AGP和ADA在内的大多数全身炎症标志物的循环水平显著升高。
