Abstract

INTRODUCTION

The analgesic effect of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) after mandibular third molar (MTM) extraction is controversial. The aim is to evaluate the effect of intraoral LLLT on postoperative pain after MTMs extraction.

METHODS

Thirty patients with bilateral symmetrical impacted MTMs underwent surgical extractions. Experimental and control sides were randomly selected to receive LLLT or placebo. Following suturing, a dental assistant applied 810 nm gallium aluminum arsenide (GaAlAs) at three points for 30 s each with a total energy of 9 J. Pain was recorded on a visual analog scale on the 7 successive days.

RESULTS

Data analyzed by IBM SPSS Statistics 23 for Windows with ≤ 0.05 significance level. LLLT appeared to have a high significant effect on pain reduction; however, there was a mild increase in pain after the 4 day.

CONCLUSION

Intraoral 810 nm GaAlAs is effective in reducing postoperative pain when a dose of 32.86 J/cm is used.

引言

下颌第三磨牙(MTM)拔除术后低强度激光疗法(LLLT)的镇痛效果存在争议。本研究旨在评估口腔内低强度激光疗法对MTM拔除术后疼痛的影响。

方法

30例双侧对称阻生MTM患者接受手术拔除。随机选择实验侧和对照侧分别接受低强度激光疗法或安慰剂治疗。缝合后,由一名牙科助理在三个点应用810纳米砷化镓铝(GaAlAs),每次照射30秒,总能量为9焦耳。连续7天采用视觉模拟量表记录疼痛情况。

结果

采用IBM SPSS Statistics 23 for Windows软件进行数据分析,显著性水平设定为≤0.05。低强度激光疗法似乎对减轻疼痛有高度显著的效果;然而,在第4天后疼痛有轻微增加。

结论
