To determine whether the traditional Chinese herbal formula of Shen Ling Baizhu (SLB) could modulate the composition of the gut microbiota and alleviate diarrhoea in suckling piglets, twenty-four newly born piglets (Large White × Landrace × Duroc) were selected and allocated to 4 groups (control group and experimental groups I, II, and III) randomly. Faecal microbiome composition was assessed by 16S rRNA gene 454-pyrosequencing. The result indicated that experimental groups I and II exhibited significantly different gut microbiota from the control group. Most notably, the genera and were significantly elevated in experimental group II compared with the control group ( < 0.05). and were also enhanced in experimental group II compared with the control group ( < 0.05). The results showed that SLB treatment could modulate the gut microbiota composition of suckling piglets, enriching the amount of beneficial bacteria in particular. The observed changes in the gut microbiota could provide the basis for further research on the pharmacological mechanism of the tested Chinese herbal formula.
为了确定中药参苓白术散(SLB)是否能够调节哺乳仔猪肠道微生物群的组成并缓解腹泻,选取24头新生仔猪(大白猪×长白猪×杜洛克猪),随机分为4组(对照组和实验组I、II、III)。通过16S rRNA基因454焦磷酸测序评估粪便微生物群组成。结果表明,实验组I和II的肠道微生物群与对照组存在显著差异。最值得注意的是,与对照组相比,实验组II中的[具体菌属1]和[具体菌属2]显著升高(P<0.05)。与对照组相比,实验组II中的[具体菌属3]和[具体菌属4]也有所增加(P<0.05)。结果表明,参苓白术散处理可调节哺乳仔猪的肠道微生物群组成,尤其增加有益菌的数量。观察到的肠道微生物群变化可为进一步研究受试中药方剂的药理机制提供依据。
