The mechanism of monozygotic multifetal pregnancy and its association with assisted reproductive technology are uncertain. This report presents two cases of dizygotic triplet pregnancy after the transfer of three embryos . The incidence of monozygotic twinning following assisted conception procedures is higher than in the general population. Zonal manipulation may be a major factor in the increased incidence of monozygotic twinning. As both cases followed the conventional fertilization (IVF), the reason for these monozygotic twinnings might be because of the changes in the zona pellucida in conditions. In one case, fetuses developed into severe twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), resulting in one intrauterine fetal death at 26 weeks gestation. (Reprod Med Biol 2003; : 41-44).
单卵多胎妊娠的机制及其与辅助生殖技术的关联尚不确定。本报告呈现了两例在移植三个胚胎后发生的双卵三胎妊娠病例。辅助受孕程序后单卵双胎的发生率高于一般人群。透明带操作可能是单卵双胎发生率增加的主要因素。由于这两例均采用传统受精(体外受精),这些单卵双胎的原因可能是在特定条件下透明带发生了变化。在其中一例中,胎儿发展为严重的双胎输血综合征(TTTS),导致一名胎儿在妊娠26周时宫内死亡。(《生殖医学与生物学》2003年;:41 - 44)
