[Effect of different fractions obtained by gel filtration of a chalone-containing preparation from Ehrlich ascites tumor on mitotic activity and DNA synthesis in this tumor].

The effect of various fractions of chalone-containing preparation from ascite Ehrlich's tumour obtained by gel filtration on ultragel Ac-A-44 on mitotic activity and DNA synthesis in the tumour has been studied. The chalone-containing preparation (alcohol precipitate) was shown to suppress entering of tumour cells into M- and S-phase and DNA synthesis. After gel filtration, the partial division of active chalone component which inhibits entering of cells into M- and S-phase took place. The component inhibiting DNA synthesis eluted with G1-chalone.
