Abstract

Quinolin-2(1)-ones and phenanthridin-6(5)-ones are synthesized in high yields by KCO-promoted cyclization of -aryl-β-bromo-α,β-unsaturated amides and -aryl-2-bromobenzamides in dimethylformamide under microwave irradiation.
