Tissue engineering is an emerging discipline that combines engineering and life sciences. It can construct functional biological structures or to replace native tissues or organs and minimize serious shortages of donor organs during tissue and organ reconstruction or transplantation. Organ transplantation has achieved success by using the tissue-engineered heart, liver, kidney, and other artificial organs, and the emergence of tissue-engineered bone also provides a new approach for the healing of human bone defects. In recent years, tissue engineering technology has gradually become an important technical method for dentistry research, and its application in stomatology-related research has also obtained impressive achievements. The purpose of this review is to summarize the research advances of tissue engineering and its application in stomatology. These aspects include tooth, periodontal, dental implant, cleft palate, oral and maxillofacial skin or mucosa, and oral and maxillofacial bone tissue engineering. In addition, this article also summarizes the commonly used cells, scaffolds, and growth factors in stomatology and discusses the limitations of tissue engineering in stomatology from the perspective of cells, scaffolds, and clinical applications.
组织工程是一门新兴学科,它将工程学与生命科学相结合。它能够构建功能性生物结构,或替代天然组织或器官,并在组织和器官重建或移植过程中尽量减少供体器官的严重短缺。通过使用组织工程心脏、肝脏、肾脏及其他人工器官,器官移植已取得成功,组织工程骨的出现也为人类骨缺损的愈合提供了新途径。近年来,组织工程技术逐渐成为口腔医学研究的重要技术方法,其在口腔医学相关研究中的应用也取得了令人瞩目的成就。本综述的目的是总结组织工程及其在口腔医学中的应用的研究进展。这些方面包括牙齿、牙周、牙种植体、腭裂、口腔颌面部皮肤或黏膜以及口腔颌面部骨组织工程。此外,本文还总结了口腔医学中常用的细胞、支架和生长因子,并从细胞、支架和临床应用的角度探讨了组织工程在口腔医学中的局限性。
