The metal-free thermal organocatalytic pinacol coupling of arylaldehydes has been developed. The intermolecular coupling of arylaldehydes catalyzed by -butyl isonicotinate with bis(pinacolato)diboron as the co-reducing agent afforded 1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-diols. This reaction was also applicable to the intramolecular coupling of 1,1'-biphenyl-2,2'-dicarbaldehydes to afford 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene-9,10-diols. Various functional groups were tolerated under this coupling condition.
已开发出芳基醛的无金属热有机催化频哪醇偶联反应。以异烟酸叔丁酯为催化剂、双(频哪醇合)二硼为共还原剂催化芳基醛的分子间偶联反应,得到1,2 - 二苯基乙烷 - 1,2 - 二醇。该反应也适用于1,1'-联苯 - 2,2'-二甲醛的分子内偶联反应,得到9,10 - 二氢菲 - 9,10 - 二醇。在这种偶联条件下,各种官能团都能兼容。
