Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To compare and correlate corneal keratometry (K), central corneal thickness (CCT), and anterior chamber depth (ACD) using a partial coherence interferometry device and a Scheimpflug camera system device in patients planned for cataract surgery.

STUDY DESIGN

Comparative cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of the Study: Armed Forces Institute of Ophthalmology, from December 2021 to June 2022.

METHODOLOGY

Patients planned for cataract surgery underwent measurement of central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), and keratometric values (K) by Wavelight OB 820 biometer and Allergo Oculyzer II, preoperatively. Correlation and inter-device agreement were assessed between two devices.

RESULTS

There were 115 patients with a mean age of 64.23 ± 9.26 years. All anterior segment parameters showed excellent agreement and high degree of correlation between the two optical devices. Correlation coefficient (r) for central corneal thickness was r = 0.958 (p<0.001) while correlation coefficient for anterior chamber depth was r = 0.965 (p<0.001), r = 0.966 (p<0.001) for flat K, and r = .0969 (p<0.001) for steep keratometry, respectively.

CONCLUSION

Ophthalmic parameters assessed by both devices were comparable and are recommended to be used in the clinical practice of keratorefractive and cataract surgeries interchangeably.

方法

拟行白内障手术的患者,术前分别使用 Wavelight OB 820 生物测量仪和 Allergo Oculyzer II 测量中央角膜厚度(CCT)、前房深度(ACD)和角膜曲率计(K)值。评估两种设备之间的相关性和设备间一致性。

结果

共纳入 115 例患者,平均年龄为 64.23±9.26 岁。两种光学设备的所有眼前节参数均具有极好的一致性和高度相关性。中央角膜厚度的相关系数(r)为 r = 0.958(p<0.001),前房深度的相关系数为 r = 0.965(p<0.001),平 K 值的相关系数为 r = 0.966(p<0.001),陡 K 值的相关系数为 r = 0.0969(p<0.001)。

结论

两种设备评估的眼科参数具有可比性,建议在角膜屈光和白内障手术的临床实践中可互换使用。
