The current study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical composition, quality control, and antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antihyperglycemic activities, and toxicity assessment of Jacq () and Ucria ( fruits aqueous extracts. The quality control of the plant material revealed that it is free of heavy metals and the acidity and ash parameters comply with international standards. HPLC-DAD analysis revealed the presence of eight phenolic compounds in the extract and nine compounds in the extract, with coumaric acid present only in the extract. According to the findings, both extracts are high in total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and condensed tannins. The results of the antioxidant activity revealed that our extracts have significant effects against 2, 2-diphényl 1-picrylhydrazyle (DPPH), and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP). The antibacterial test revealed that the two extracts tested were effective against four bacterial strains, including , , , and , but were ineffective against , and . In addition, extracts from both plants showed remarkable antihyperglycemic activity with no acute toxicity. In conclusion, the extracts studied could be a good source of bioactive molecules with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-diabetic activity for pharmaceutical applications.
本研究旨在评估刺果番荔枝(Jacq)和尖叶番荔枝(Ucria)果实水提取物的植物化学成分、质量控制、抗氧化、抗菌、抗真菌、降血糖活性以及毒性评估。植物材料的质量控制表明其不含重金属,酸度和灰分参数符合国际标准。高效液相色谱-二极管阵列检测(HPLC-DAD)分析显示,刺果番荔枝提取物中存在8种酚类化合物,尖叶番荔枝提取物中存在9种化合物,香豆酸仅存在于刺果番荔枝提取物中。根据研究结果,两种提取物的总多酚、总黄酮和缩合单宁含量都很高。抗氧化活性结果表明,我们的提取物对2,2-二苯基-1-苦基肼(DPPH)和铁还原抗氧化能力(FRAP)有显著影响。抗菌试验表明,所测试的两种提取物对四种细菌菌株有效,包括金黄色葡萄球菌、大肠杆菌、枯草芽孢杆菌和铜绿假单胞菌,但对白色念珠菌和热带念珠菌无效。此外,两种植物的提取物均表现出显著的降血糖活性且无急性毒性。总之,所研究的提取物可能是具有抗氧化、抗菌和抗糖尿病活性的生物活性分子的良好来源,可用于制药应用。
