To compare the rates of macular displacement (MD) in patients with primary macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRD) who underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with either silicone-oil (SO) or perfluoropropane (C3F8) gas tamponade, and to investigate whether there is a correlation between MD and metamorphopsia.
This retrospective comparative study included fifty-three patients with macula-off RRD who underwent a single 25-gauge PPV surgery. The patients were divided into two groups based on the endotamponade used during surgery: 14% C3F8 gas (n=28) or SO (n=25). Demographic information, preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative characteristics were collected from medical records. Ophthalmological examinations were conducted, and data on various parameters, including perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) use, drainage retinotomy, MD rates, and presence of metamorphopsia, were assessed.
PFCL was used in all cases, and no patient underwent drainage retinotomy. MD was detected in 18 eyes (64.2%) in the gas tamponade group and 9 eyes (36.0%) in the SO group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (p=0.039). In both groups, 28 patients with suffered from metamorphopsia, but no significant correlation was found between MD and metamorphopsia in the gas group (p= 0.887).
The study suggests that MD rates differ significantly between patients who underwent PPV with SO or C3F8 gas tamponade. Furthermore, while MD was observed in both groups, it may not always result in metamorphopsia in most patients after detachment surgery.

本回顾性对照研究纳入 53 例黄斑脱离孔源性视网膜脱离患者，均行 25G 单一 PPV 手术。根据术中使用的内填塞物将患者分为两组：14% C3F8 气体（n=28）或 SO（n=25）。从病历中收集人口统计学信息、术前、术中及术后特征。进行眼科检查，并评估各种参数的数据，包括全氟碳液体（PFCL）的使用、引流裂孔、MD 发生率和变形的存在。
所有病例均使用 PFCL，无患者行引流裂孔。气体填塞组 18 只眼（64.2%）出现 MD，SO 组 9 只眼（36.0%）出现 MD，两组差异有统计学意义（p=0.039）。两组均有 28 例患者出现变形，但气体组 MD 与变形之间无明显相关性（p=0.887）。
本研究表明，PPV 联合 SO 或 C3F8 气体填充治疗后患者的 MD 发生率存在显著差异。此外，虽然两组均观察到 MD，但在大多数脱离手术后患者中，MD 并不一定会导致变形。
