Abstract

The aim of this study was to observe the effect of topical application of manuka honey in healing of nasal mucosa in Post Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. A total of 50 patients were selected and were operated for sinonasal diseases. Post operative after nasal pack removal manuka honey was applied. Post- operative healing was assessed and scoring was done. The present study was to evaluate and observe faster healing after application of Manuka honey. The median time to achieve clean cavity, mucosal transition and complete epithelialization was 14.0 (14.0-14.0) days. The present study concluded that application of manuka honey promotes faster healing of nasal cavity and lessens chances of postoperative infections.

本研究的目的是观察局部应用麦卢卡蜂蜜对鼻内镜鼻窦手术后鼻黏膜愈合的影响。总共选取了50例因鼻窦疾病接受手术的患者。术后取出鼻腔填塞物后应用麦卢卡蜂蜜。评估术后愈合情况并进行评分。本研究旨在评估和观察应用麦卢卡蜂蜜后更快的愈合情况。实现术腔清洁、黏膜转化和完全上皮化的中位时间为14.0（14.0 - 14.0）天。本研究得出结论，应用麦卢卡蜂蜜可促进鼻腔更快愈合，并减少术后感染的几率。
