Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of the methanol extract of Wall. Ex A. DC. leaves (Primulaceae family) led to the isolation of sixteen compounds including three sterols (-), one triterpene (), four flavonoids (-), four megastigmanes (-), three phenolic compounds (-), and one furan derivative (). Their chemical structures were determined based on ESI-MS and NMR spectral data. This is the first chemical study of . Compounds , -, and were found in the genus for the first time. Compounds -, , and represent the first isolation from the Primulaceae family. In the -glucosidase activity assay, MeOH extract, compounds and strongly inhibited enzyme -glucosidase activity. A molecular docking study revealed that compounds and showed different interactions with enzyme -glucosidase.
