Twenty patients with essential hypertension difficult to control on a combination of beta blocker, diuretic and vasodilator (mainly hydralazine) drugs were subject to an open study. Replacement of the vasodilator by nifedipine appeared to produce a satisfactory antihypertensive response and a reduction in side effects.

对20名使用β受体阻滞剂、利尿剂和血管扩张剂（主要是肼屈嗪）联合治疗仍难以控制的原发性高血压患者进行了一项开放性研究。用硝苯地平替代血管扩张剂似乎产生了令人满意的降压反应，并减少了副作用。
