A novel actinomycete, designated strain NX62, was isolated from desert soil obtained from Isolaginsha, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China. Its taxonomic position was determined using a polyphasic approach. The strain shows the typical morphological and chemotaxonomic features of members of the genus Lentzea: slight to dark yellow substrate mycelia and white to greyish white aerial hyphae fragmenting into rod-shaped elements; meso-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall peptidoglycan; MK-9(H) and MK-9(H) as menaquinones; diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, hydroxy-phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol as main polar lipids; iso-C and iso-C as major cellular fatty acids; and DNA G+C content of 70.1 mol%. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis indicated that strain NX62 shows high similarity to Lentzea cavernae SYSU K10001 (99.3%) and Lentzea albida IFO 16102 (98.9%), and formed a monophyletic clade with L. cavernae SYSU K10001 in the phylogenetic tree. Based on a comparison of the phenotypic properties and the low level of DNA-DNA relatedness, strain NX62 can be distinguished from phylogenetically related Lentzea species. Therefore, it is concluded that strain NX62 represents a novel species of the genus Lentzea, for which the name Lentzea isolaginshaensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is NX62 (= CGMCC 4.7522 = KCTC 49179).
从中国宁夏回族自治区 isolaginsha 的沙漠土壤中分离出一株新型放线菌,命名为 NX62 菌株。采用多相分类法确定其分类地位。该菌株具有 Lentzea 属成员典型的形态和化学分类特征:基内菌丝体呈浅黄色至深黄色,气生菌丝体呈白色至灰白色,断裂成杆状;细胞壁肽聚糖中含有内消旋二氨基庚二酸;以 MK-9(H) 和 MK-9(H) 作为甲基萘醌;以二磷脂酰甘油、磷脂酰乙醇胺、羟基磷脂酰乙醇胺和磷脂酰肌醇作为主要极性脂质;以异-C 和异-C 作为主要细胞脂肪酸;DNA G+C 含量为 70.1 mol%。16S rRNA 基因序列分析表明,菌株 NX62 与洞穴 Lentzea SYSU K10001(99.3%)和白色 Lentzea IFO 16102(98.9%)具有高度相似性,在系统发育树中与洞穴 Lentzea SYSU K10001 形成一个单系分支。基于表型特征比较和低水平的 DNA-DNA 相关性,菌株 NX62 可与系统发育相关的 Lentzea 物种区分开来。因此,得出结论,菌株 NX62 代表 Lentzea 属的一个新物种,为此提出新名称 Lentzea isolaginshaensis sp. nov.。模式菌株为 NX62(= CGMCC 4.7522 = KCTC 49179)。
