Obesity and overweight are major public health problem. Different-strategies have been developed for body contouring including Radiofrequency(RF) and Ultrasound(US). The aim of this study was to investigate changes in serum-leptin as a potential-modulator of food/energy intake, in overweight-women receiving RF/US and diet-therapy as well as the effect of therapy on modulation of lipid-profile and body-fat-mass.
Fifty overweight-females were enrolled in current randomized-clinical-trial and randomly divided into two groups. The case group received RF/US twice a week for 5 weeks with a low calorie diet whilst the control-group received just a low calorie diet. Demographic, biochemical markers as well as serum-leptin were determined.
The level of leptin was reduced from 1.29 ± 0.32 ng/ml to 1.14 ± 0.34 ng/ml in case group, before and after therapy, respectively, whilst no significant differences were observed in the serum leptin levels of subjects in the control group. The combination of RF and US decreased the leptin-level. In particular, the mean reduction of abdominal-circumference and waist-circumference was significant (P < 0.05) after therapy. This reduction was inversely correlated with LDL levels. Weight was reduced in case and control groups and in both was significant, but no statistically significant differences were detected for weight between the groups(P < 0.93).
Our findings demonstrated the reduction of the leptin after treatment with the combination of Radiofrequency/Ultrasound cavitation, which was associated with reduced body-fat-mass.

五十名超重女性参加了当前的随机临床试验,并随机分为两组。病例组每周接受两次射频/超声治疗,持续5周,同时采用低热量饮食,而对照组仅接受低热量饮食。测定了人口统计学、生化指标以及血清瘦素。
病例组治疗前后瘦素水平分别从1.29±0.32 ng/ml降至1.14±0.34 ng/ml,而对照组受试者的血清瘦素水平未观察到显著差异。射频和超声联合使用降低了瘦素水平。特别是,治疗后腹围和腰围的平均减小具有显著性(P<0.05)。这种减小与低密度脂蛋白水平呈负相关。病例组和对照组的体重均下降,且均具有显著性,但两组之间的体重差异无统计学意义(P<0.93)。
我们的研究结果表明,射频/超声空化联合治疗后瘦素水平降低,这与体脂量减少有关。
