Species of and , are found in the digestive tract of birds. To investigate trichomonads of a lower intestinal tract of native chickens, we examined 72 feces samples from the different life stages of fowl species in Khorramabad County, Lorestan Province, Western Iran. Using microscopical examination, out of 72 collected samples, 26 (31.6%) bird feces samples were found infected with a trichomonad similar to . A 527-bp fragment of 18S rRNA gene of was amplified by PCR. The 18S constructed phylogeny indicates two different clades within suggesting that commensal -like of the bird hosts may be the reason for the genetic divergence in species complex.
贾第虫属和毛滴虫属的物种存在于鸟类的消化道中。为了调查本地鸡下肠道的毛滴虫,我们检查了伊朗西部洛雷斯坦省霍拉马巴德县不同生命阶段家禽的72份粪便样本。通过显微镜检查,在收集的72份样本中,发现26份(31.6%)鸟类粪便样本感染了一种类似于贾第虫属的毛滴虫。通过聚合酶链反应(PCR)扩增了贾第虫属18S核糖体RNA基因的一个527碱基对片段。构建的18S系统发育树表明贾第虫属内有两个不同的进化枝,这表明鸟类宿主中类似共生的贾第虫属可能是该物种复合体遗传分化的原因。
