Abstract

Tree fern is an endangered relic plant in the world. It is currently on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red list of threatened species. In this study, we first assembled the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of by Illumina paired-end reads data. The whole genome was 156,661 bp, consisting of a pair of inverted repeats of 24,364 bp, large single copy region and a small single copy region (70,352 and 21,624 bp in length, respectively). The cp genome contained 133 genes, including 92 protein-coding genes, 33 trRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. The overall GC content of the whole genome was 40.4%. A neighbour-joining phylogenetic analysis demonstrated a close relationship between and Ching.

桫椤是世界上一种濒危的孑遗植物。它目前在国际自然保护联盟(IUCN)濒危物种红色名录上。在本研究中,我们首先通过Illumina双端测序数据组装了桫椤的完整叶绿体(cp)基因组。整个基因组为156,661 bp,由一对24,364 bp的反向重复序列、一个大单拷贝区域和一个小单拷贝区域(长度分别为70,352和21,624 bp)组成。cp基因组包含133个基因,包括92个蛋白质编码基因、33个tRNA基因和8个rRNA基因。整个基因组的总体GC含量为40.4%。邻接法系统发育分析表明桫椤与秦仁昌桫椤之间关系密切。
