(Roxb. Ex Lamb.) G. Don possesses various biological activities, which have been documented in modern and traditional medicine. In this study, burn wound healing activity of the methanol extract of wood was evaluated a burn wound model in Wistar rats.
The methanol extract of was evaluated for the contents of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and tannins. Also, its antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH assay. Then, a topical ointment containing the methanol extract of (10%) was used to evaluate the healing effects on a model of second-degree thermal burn in 4 groups of 7 rats within 21 days. In this respect, average wound surface area, wound closure, and various histological features were examined.
Our findings revealed that the wounds treated with the methanol extract of showed higher wound contraction (33.6, 87.1, and 93.4% on days 7, 14, and 21, respectively) compared with the positive control (27.6, 80.7, and 88.3% on days 7, 14, and 21, respectively) and the negative control (20.1, 77.9, and 80.2% on days 7, 14, and 21, respectively). According to the results from epitheliogenesis score, the number of inflammatory cells, neovascularization, and collagen density, good burn wound healing activity of the methanol extract of was demonstrated.
Using the methanol extract of in an ointment formulation can be developed to prevent or reduce burn injury progression.

对该植物的甲醇提取物进行酚类化合物、黄酮类化合物和单宁含量的评估。此外,采用DPPH法测定其抗氧化活性。然后,使用含该植物甲醇提取物(10%)的外用软膏对4组每组7只大鼠的二度热烧伤模型进行21天的愈合效果评估。在此方面,检查了平均创面面积、创面闭合情况及各种组织学特征。
我们的研究结果显示,与阳性对照组(第7、14和21天分别为27.6%、80.7%和88.3%)和阴性对照组(第7、14和21天分别为20.1%、77.9%和80.2%)相比,用该植物甲醇提取物处理的创面收缩率更高(第7、14和21天分别为33.6%、87.1%和93.4%)。根据上皮形成评分、炎症细胞数量、新生血管形成和胶原密度的结果,证明该植物甲醇提取物具有良好的烧伤创面愈合活性。
可以开发将该植物甲醇提取物制成软膏制剂,以预防或减少烧伤损伤的进展。
