Abstract
The identification of a streptococcal red-cell sensitizing antigen, called the D′ antigen, with a distribution paralleling that of the Lancefield group D precipitating antigen is described. The antigen which has been shown to be serologically quite distinct from the group D antigen occurs in the cell in both sensitizing and non-sensitizing forms. Sensitizing and non-sensitizing forms of the Hickey and 44 antigens have also been identified.
