Experiments on 26 conscious cats with experimental intrarebral hemorrhage showed that 24-48 hours after blood administration, intracarotid infusion of euphylline promoted EEG returning to normal, enhanced the local blood flow of the test structures of both hemispheres and produced hurried breathing without material changes in the systemic arterial blood pressure. Administration of the drugs in the later periods (days 7-8) was not effective and even produced a decrease in blood supply to the affected hemisphere. EEG tendency towards normal remains unchanged.
