After chronic administration of propranolol (1 and 5 mg/kg) to rats for 14 days, the time course of forced swimming was changed, by decreasing the rhythmic index of depression. With propranolol, the depressogenic properties of reserpine and clonidine were attenuated. The antidepressive activity of propranolol was associated with cerebral beta-adrenoceptor block.
给大鼠连续14天慢性给予普萘洛尔（1和5毫克/千克）后，强迫游泳的时间进程发生了变化，抑郁节律指数降低。使用普萘洛尔后，利血平和可乐定的致抑郁特性减弱。普萘洛尔的抗抑郁活性与脑β-肾上腺素能受体阻滞有关。
