A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, white-coloured, rod-shaped bacteria, designated as a strain dW9, was isolated from soil. Strain dW9 was catalase-positive and oxidase-negative. Strain dW9 grew at temperature of 20-37°C and at pH of 5.0-7.0. Phylogenetic and 16S rRNA gene analysis indicated that strain dW9 belonged to the genus with its closest relative being S4 (97.4% sequence similarity). The genome size of dW9 was 7,787,916 bp with DNA G+C content of 51.3%. The digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) values of dW9 with its closest relatives were found to be <22.0% and <74.0%, respectively. The only respiratory quinone was MK-7, and the major fatty acids were antiso-C and iso-C. Overall, the comprehensive taxonomic analysis revealed that strain dW9 met all the fundamental criteria to be classified as a novel species within the genus Paenibacillus. Accordingly, we propose the name sp. nov., with the type strain dW9 (=KCTC 43431 =NBRC 116022).
一株革兰氏阳性、需氧、白色、杆状细菌,被命名为菌株 dW9,从土壤中分离得到。菌株 dW9 过氧化氢酶阳性,氧化酶阴性。菌株 dW9 在 20-37°C 的温度和 pH5.0-7.0 的条件下生长。系统发育和 16S rRNA 基因分析表明,菌株 dW9 属于 属,与最接近的种为 S4(序列相似性为 97.4%)。dW9 的基因组大小为 7,787,916 bp,GC 含量为 51.3%。dW9 与最接近的种的数字 DNA-DNA 杂交(dDDH)和平均核苷酸同一性(ANI)值分别为<22.0%和<74.0%。唯一的呼吸醌是 MK-7,主要脂肪酸是anteiso-C 和 iso-C。总的来说,综合分类分析表明,菌株 dW9 符合所有分类学标准,可被归类为 属中的一个新种。因此,我们建议使用菌株 dW9(=KCTC 43431 =NBRC 116022)作为 Paenibacillus 种的新种。
