Abstract
Intravaginal infection of guinea pigs with HSV type 2 induced lesions resembling genital herpes in humans. Chronic latent infection with spontaneously recurring genital lesions developed in animals surviving the primary disease. Clinical observations and virological studies during the acute and chronic infection are reported.

用2型单纯疱疹病毒对豚鼠进行阴道内感染，可诱发类似人类生殖器疱疹的损伤。在原发性疾病中存活下来的动物会发展为慢性潜伏感染，并伴有生殖器损伤的自发复发。本文报告了急性和慢性感染期间的临床观察和病毒学研究情况。
