A Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain CAU 1522, was isolated from a sea sand sample collected from the Republic of Korea. Optimal growth of strain CAU 1522 ensued at 30 °C, pH 7.5, and 1.0% (w/v) NaCl. Strain CAU 1522 was affiliated to the genus Thalassococcus with high similarity to T. lentus KCTC 32084 (97.5%), T. profundi MCCC 1K03253 (96.5%), and T. halodurans JCM 13833 (96.1%) according to phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences. The whole genome of strain CAU 1522 was 3.7 Mb in length and included 7 contigs and 3599 protein-coding genes, with a G + C content of 65.4 mol%. The predominant cellular fatty acids were C ω6c and/or C ω7c (summed feature 8), with Q-10 being the sole isoprenoid quinone. The polar lipids included phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphoglycolipid, and an unidentified lipid. These phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, and phylogenetic data support that strain CAU 1522 is a novel Thalassococcus species, for which the name T. arenae sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CAU 1522 (= KCTC 72545 = MCCC 1K04064).
一株革兰氏阴性、需氧、杆状细菌,被命名为 CAU 1522 菌株,从韩国采集的海沙样本中分离得到。CAU 1522 菌株的最佳生长条件为 30°C、pH7.5 和 1.0%(w/v)NaCl。根据 16S rRNA 基因序列的系统发育分析,CAU 1522 菌株与 Thalassococcus lentus KCTC 32084(97.5%)、T. profundus MCCC 1K03253(96.5%)和 T. halodurans JCM 13833(96.1%)高度相似,属于 Thalassococcus 属。CAU 1522 菌株的全基因组长度为 3.7 Mb,包含 7 个 contigs 和 3599 个蛋白编码基因,G+C 含量为 65.4 mol%。主要的细胞脂肪酸为 C ω6c 和/或 C ω7c(特征 8 总和),唯一的异戊烯醌为 Q-10。极性脂包括磷脂酰胆碱、磷脂酰乙醇胺、磷脂酰甘油、磷酯酰甘油糖脂和一种未鉴定的脂。这些表型、化学分类和系统发育数据表明,CAU 1522 菌株是一种新型的 Thalassococcus 物种,建议将其命名为 T. arenae sp. nov.。模式菌株为 CAU 1522(=KCTC 72545=MCCC 1K04064)。
