The present study aimed to examine the chemical composition and biological activity of essential oils extracted from Euphorbia macrorrhiza collected from Northwest China. The major constituents of the essential oils of aerial parts and roots of E. macrorrhiza are acorenone B (16.72% and 25.80%), (+)-cycloisosativene (14.94% and 12.40%), 3a-hydroxy-5b-androstane (10.62% and 5.52%), copaene (7.37% and 6.29%), l-calamenene (4.13% and 4.65%) and β-cedrene (8.40% and 7.98%), respectively. The minor components of them are thymene, γ-terpinene, thymecamphor, α-cedrene, zingiberene, trans-caryophyllene, β-chamigrene, curcumene, pentadecane, (-)-α-muurolene, cuparene, γ-cadinene, (Z)-3-heptadecene, 1,3,7,7-tetramethyl-2-oxabicyclo(4.4.0)dec-5-en-4-one, hexahydrofarnesyl acetone, γ-elixene and palmitinic acid. The antimicrobial and antitumor activitiy of the E. macrorrhiza essential oil against Staphyloccocus aureus, Escherichia coli, Canidia Albicans and Caco-2 cells were evaluated. Among all the tested microorganisms and Caco-2 cells, the essential oils showed the strongest inhibitory effect on Staphyloccocus aureus (MIC = 2.8 μg/mL) and Caco-2 cell (IC₅₀ = 11.86 μg/mL), whereas no effect on Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The data of this study suggested that the E. macrorrhiza essential oils have great potential as a natural medicine for microbial infections and cancers.
本研究旨在考察中国西北采集的大果大戟根和地上部分精油的化学成分和生物活性。大果大戟根和地上部分精油的主要成分分别为 acorenone B(16.72%和 25.80%)、(+)-环异戊烯(14.94%和 12.40%)、3a-羟基-5b-雄甾烷(10.62%和 5.52%)、古巴烯(7.37%和 6.29%)、姜黄烯(4.13%和 4.65%)和β-芹子烯(8.40%和 7.98%)。它们的次要成分分别为:对伞花烃、γ-松油烯、胸腺醇、α-芹子烯、姜烯、反式石竹烯、β-芹子烯、莪术烯、十五烷、(-)-α-古巴烯、桉油醇、γ-姜黄烯、(Z)-3-十七烯、1,3,7,7-四甲基-2-氧杂双环[4.4.0]癸-5-烯-4-酮、六氢法呢基丙酮、γ-依兰油烯和棕榈酸。评价了大戟根精油对金黄色葡萄球菌、大肠杆菌、白色念珠菌和 Caco-2 细胞的抗菌和抗肿瘤活性。在所有测试的微生物和 Caco-2 细胞中,精油对金黄色葡萄球菌(MIC = 2.8 μg/mL)和 Caco-2 细胞(IC₅₀ = 11.86 μg/mL)表现出最强的抑制作用,而对大肠杆菌和白色念珠菌没有影响。本研究数据表明,大果大戟根精油具有作为治疗微生物感染和癌症的天然药物的巨大潜力。
