BACKGROUND
Adherence to treatment is an important factor in the management of diabetic patients. The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of the 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) among type 2 diabetes.
METHODS
This study carried out in Family Medicine Clinics (FMCs) in Tabriz, North West of Iran from May to September 2018. A total of 320 patients suffering from Type 2 diabetes were included. Content and face validity of the Persian version of MMAS-8 were quantitatively evaluated. The Cronbach's alpha and intra-class correlation (ICC) were calculated to assess the reliability. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to assess the construct validity of the questionnaire.
RESULTS
Content and face validity of the Persian version of MMAS-8 were confirmed. Good internal consistency (Cronbach's a = 0.83) and test-retest reliability (ICC= 0.87, P<0.001) were found. According to the results of the EFA, Persian version of MMAS-8 among diabetic patients had two dimensions: stopping to take medication due to the forgetfulness and for reasons other than forgetfulness.
CONCLUSION
The Persian version of the MMAS-8 is a high valid and reliable questionnaire to screen medication adherence of Persian-speaking patients with diabetes.
背景
坚持治疗是糖尿病患者管理中的一个重要因素。本研究的目的是检验8项Morisky药物依从性量表（MMAS-8）在2型糖尿病患者中的心理测量特性。
方法
本研究于2018年5月至9月在伊朗西北部大不里士的家庭医学诊所进行。共纳入320例2型糖尿病患者。对波斯语版MMAS-8的内容效度和表面效度进行了定量评估。计算Cronbach's α系数和组内相关系数（ICC）以评估信度。采用探索性因子分析（EFA）评估问卷的结构效度。
结果
波斯语版MMAS-8的内容效度和表面效度得到证实。发现具有良好的内部一致性（Cronbach's α = 0.83）和重测信度（ICC = 0.87，P<0.001）。根据EFA结果，糖尿病患者的波斯语版MMAS-8有两个维度：因遗忘而停药和因遗忘以外的原因停药。
结论
波斯语版MMAS-8是一种高度有效且可靠的问卷，用于筛查说波斯语的糖尿病患者的药物依从性。
