Strain KK2020170, a Gram-stain negative, yellow colony-forming bacterium, was isolated from surface seawater sampled in Kojima Bay, Okayama, Japan. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene revealed that strain KK2020170 belongs to the genus Flavobacterium, with Flavobacterium haoranii LQY-7 (98.1% similarity) being its closest relative, followed by Flavobacterium sediminis MEBiC07310 (96.9%) and Flavobacterium urocaniciphilum YIT 12746 (96.0%). Whole-genome shotgun sequencing showed that strain KK2020170, when paralleled with F. haoranii LQY-7, had 81.3% average nucleotide identity, and 24.6% in silico DNA-DNA hybridization values, respectively. The DNA G + C content of strain KK2020170 was 31.1 mol%. The most abundant fatty acids (> 10%) of strain KK2020170 were iso-C15: 0, iso-C17: 0 3-OH and iso-C15: 1 G. The dominant respiratory quinone of the strain was menaquinone MK-6. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic analysis results, we propose that strain KK2020170 represents a novel species, for which the name Flavobacterium okayamense sp. nov. has been proposed. The type strain is KK2020170 (= ATCC TSD-280 = NBRC 115344).
菌株 KK2020170 是从日本冈山县小郡湾采集的表层海水中分离得到的革兰氏阴性、黄色菌落形成细菌。基于 16S rRNA 基因的系统发育分析表明,菌株 KK2020170 属于黄杆菌属,与哈氏黄杆菌 LQY-7(相似度 98.1%)最为密切,其次是浅海黄杆菌 MEBiC07310(相似度 96.9%)和尿殖道黄杆菌 YIT 12746(相似度 96.0%)。全基因组鸟枪法测序显示,菌株 KK2020170 与哈氏黄杆菌 LQY-7 的平均核苷酸同一性为 81.3%,体外 DNA-DNA 杂交值为 24.6%。菌株 KK2020170 的 DNA G+C 含量为 31.1 mol%。菌株 KK2020170 中含量最多的脂肪酸(>10%)为 iso-C15:0、iso-C17:0 3-OH 和 iso-C15:1 G。该菌株的主要呼吸醌为menaquinone MK-6。基于系统发育和表型分析结果,我们建议菌株 KK2020170 代表一个新种,命名为 Okayamaense 海杆菌 sp. nov.。模式菌株为 KK2020170(=ATCC TSD-280= NBRC 115344)。
